Credit is given to the Aboriginal community and this is blended in wonderfully. The sleevenotes say that David Ruis, the pastor and worship leader, and worship leaders Kim Johnston and Rich Leaf wanted to blend together a mosaic of people with within an urban setting who express the essence of the church; it's care, love of one's neighbour and a challenge to blend issues of mercy and justice in worship. I think especially in songs like 'Gift Be To Real', 'Kehi-Manitou' and the title track 'Fragrant Oil' they really achieve their aims. 'Fragrant Oil' is a must for anyone who loves worship albums but is looking for something a bit different. It is also very catchy and after only a couple of plays we had taken this very much to our hearts. Go and buy!

To me, an all-time classic! This is my single most favorits
entire worship album. Hopefully it will not stay "out of
print". A true treasure to the worshipping community...
