I am told that there is currently a huge buzz in the States for this so gifted singer/songwriter who's moved from Australia to relocate in Nashville. Her music has been grandly described as a cross between Enya and Amy Grant. On this, the best debut collection that I have ever had the good fortune to review, Ms Tumes comes within a whisker of living up to everybody's great expectations. Her voice and songwriting seamlessly combine to bring an ethereal quality that I have rarely encountered before. Yet I can also detect other voices on this album. Listen, if you'll pardon the pun, to the title track and tell me if you can't detect the vocal style of producer Charlie Peacock. You can also hear it on "Heaven Will Be Near Me" and above all on "Feel". Whilst "Christ Of Hope" sounds like Mrs Chapman in Celtic mode, only those as old as Peacock himself will recognise the voice on "Healing Waters" as uncannily similar to that of "70s hippy singer/songwriter Judee Sill who once sang "Jesus Is A Crossmaker". When you have had your fill of rock and roll, here is the ultimate album to round off the end of a perfect day.
