Australian idiosyncratic pop from a hand built around Josh Thomson's enigmatic acoustic guitar playing and Becca Boucher's expressive voice. Eight songs, all with a certain charm but it was the magnificent "Beauty" which stopped me in my tracks. A haunting melody and emotional playing evoking oodles of atmosphere with some underplayed strings adding to the overall feel. There's plenty of melody and the overall slightly alternative feel keeps things interesting. Songs like "Taking On The World" and "Let It Ride" build into hooky choruses over Thomson's relentless guitar. On "She Is A Child" the band is almost like an Australian Out Of The Grey but with a stripped down production and a little more wild abandon from Becca. On "Please" she pleads and wails pouring a heap of emotion into the song. Overall, worthy of attention.
