Sylva is a small town in Jackson County, North Carolina, famous for its picturesque views and smoky mountains. It's a main street community with tree-lined avenues and is home to Diane Jurrs who, it has to be said, has a very unique style of writing. Her songs are a reflection of her surroundings and are simplistic in their content. This is not surprising for this small town is greatly influenced by country and western style music. Diane's music is more folk-orientated with heartfelt lyrics and simple acoustics, this you would think would make for easy listening, but sad to say she is no Joni Mitchell. I really feel that this album will struggle in today's techno fuelled Christian market. Nothing really stands out on this album for me. Fans of old style folk orientated Jesus music may enjoy this though.
